How Next Wave shows up on Google

For Sasha at Next Wave Therapy, from Joel the Nerd

Where the website stood when Joel took it over on 15 September, where it is now and the plan to win back the ground lost during the agency months.

Today at a glance

–searches where you appear in Google's top 20
–for "physio o'connor" in Google, up from #3 on takeover day
–of the O'Connor area shows you in the Google Maps top 3 for "physio o'connor"

Before and after the takeover

Number of searches where your site sat on Google's first page, month by month. Google does not let a new owner see a site's history directly, so this comes from DataForSEO, an independent service that has been recording Google results for your site since 2024.

Google Maps around the clinic

We check Google Maps from 25 points around the clinic, 1.5km apart, every week. Each square is your position when someone searches from that spot. The outlined square is the clinic.

Searches you rank for

Your strongest searches in Google right now: service searches where you are on the first two pages.

The plan

The goal is to get back to where the site was in May, then past it. Every change goes to you for approval first.

Fremantle

Biggest search market, weakest spot

More people search for Fremantle than for O'Connor, but you sit on Google's second page for it. Fremantle is back in the Physiotherapy page title and all nine suburb pages are now linked from every page.

  • Build out the Fremantle physio page so it is the clear Fremantle page.
  • Give occupational therapy one Fremantle page (two pages currently share the same title, so Google splits them).
  • Goal: back on page one for "physio fremantle" and Maps top 5 around the clinic.

Chronic pain

Your specialty, worth owning

This was a top 3 result. When the home page was simplified it lost its link to this page. A second chronic pain page also went live the same week, so Google now swaps between the two.

  • Link the home page to this page again and make the two chronic pain pages work as a pair.
  • Bring back the common questions from your old page (managing back, neck and lower back pain), placed in the sections they relate to.
  • Point the telehealth, conditions and blog pages on chronic pain to this page.
  • Goal: back in the top 3.

Perth-wide

Long game

"Physiotherapy Perth" and "exercise rehabilitation Perth" are competitive. Exercise rehabilitation is back in Google at #12 this week.

  • Two articles a month from your own service pages, each linked to its service.
  • Regular posts on your Google Business Profile.
  • Goal: first page for exercise rehabilitation Perth, Maps top 5 for physiotherapy Perth.
